Reclaimer and Stockpiler are used to pre-homogenize the crushed raw materials following the crushing of the extracted ore. The pre-homogenized mixture is then dried and ground. During this stage, a ball mill is typically used to produce Raw Meal, a fine powder with dimensions of less than a few tens of microns. In addition to Raw Meal grinding, after preparation of clinker in the burning stage, clinker is mixed and ground with gypsum (to prevent or adjust the hardening of cement) and any other necessary additives. Typically, a ball or roller mill is utilized for this purpose.
A ball mill has a large horizontal cylinder that rotates around itself. As a result of this rotation, the balls collide, are crushed, and the final fine-grained and homogeneous cement powder is produced.
